Letter from the President
Dear Northern Nevada Claims Association Members,
|
 |
We have started 2011 strong and are looking forward to many great events this year.
In January, Kimberly Dale and Pamela Jochim, tort claims adjusters for the Nevada Attorney General's Office, spoke at our luncheon, which was sponsored by P.W. Stephens Environmental, Inc. |
In Feburary, Tom Jacobs of the Department of Motor Vehicles presented Criteria for Totaling Vehicles, and in March our Washoe County Assessor, Joshua Wilson, taught us how property values are determined and about the great property search resources available at www.washoecounty.us/assessor.
We already have worthwhile presentations lined up for the next few months. In April, Jason O'Neal will present on Fire Investigations, and our May presenter will be Judge Dorothy Nash Holmes.
We hope to see you all at our monthly Lunch & Learns on the first Thursdays (except July, September, and December) at the South Valleys Library at 15650A Wedge Parkway, Reno (map).
Please mark your calendar now for these great 2011 Northern Nevada Claims Association events:
April 7 - Lunch and Learn
May 5 - Lunch and Learn
June 2 - Lunch and Learn
July 21 - Summer Membership Barbeque (Members are FREE, Non-members only $10)
August 4 - Lunch and Learn
August 5 - Golf Tournament and Barbeque Dinner - $60. ($20 for dinner only)
September 15 - Bowling Tournament
October 6 - Lunch and Learn

It is the wonderful support from our members, event guests, and dynamic board members that has allowed us to grow over the last few years, and we are excited to continue that trend throughout this year and beyond!

Insurance Humor
Two men were fishing in the Caribbean. The first said, "I'm here because my house burned down, and everything I owned was destroyed by the fire. The insurance company paid for everything."
That's quite a coincidence," said the second. "I'm here because my house and all my belongings were destroyed by a flood, and my insurance company also paid for everything."
The first thought for a moment, but was puzzled. Finally he asked the other, "How do you start a flood?"
