Letter from the President

Dear Northern Nevada Claims Association Members,

It has been a great year for the Claims Association with many quality presentations and activities, and with ever-increasing participation from our growing membership. Our excellent lunch presenters continue to provide a professional atmosphere where adjusters and business supporters can mingle and learn together each month. In August, John Hagerty of CIG/Nevada Capital presented on Causation Doctrines in Property Claims, which was sponsored by P.W. Stephens Environmental, Inc.

In October, Robert Neketin, Senior Field Inspector for IRI, spoke on Roof Damage. The luncheon was sponsored by Guardian Environmental. Brett Barratt, Nevada's Insurance Commissioner, spoke to a very full room in November, sponsored by P.W. Stephens Environmental, Inc.

Our August Golf Tournament was a great start to bringing back this annual tradition. Special thanks to Bryant Bourgeau for making it all happen and for all the participants and sponsors. From the proceeds of the tournament, we were able to present a check for $500 to the South Valleys Library, where we have our monthly luncheons.

Our Annual Bowling Tournament in September was another success and raised over $1,000 for CARE Cest. Thanks to all who participated and donated raffle prizes, and especially to our Food Sponsor, BELFOR Property Restoration, our Drink Sponsor, P.W. Stephens Environmental, Inc., our Trophy Sponsor, ServiceMaster, and our Tournament Sponsors, Farr West Engineering and Guardian Environmental.

In October, the Association was proud to provide Xactimate training to its members. Thanks to Paul Gardner of BELFOR Property Restoration for donating his time, which allowed us to offer this $600 class for only $50. The feedback from everyone who took the class was overwhemingly positive.

On January 6, 2011, we are starting off the year with a lunch presentation by Kimberly Dale and Pamela Jochim, tort claims adjusters for the Nevada Attorney General's Office. Be sure to RSVP Online or call (775) 333-5967 by Tuesday, January 4, 2011 to reserve your spot for the luncheon.

Finally, our report would not be complete without thanking Paul Camacho, our immediate past president, and the entire board for all their hard work this past year. We also congratulate Paul on being selected as the Nevada State Claims Person of the year.
